The Staff Parish Relations Committee oversees relationships among staff members and relationships between the staff and the congregation. The committee is also responsible to assess the needs of the pastor and staff as well as the needs that the congregation has of the pastor and staff. This committee works to assure that relations between the pastor, staff, and congregation run smoothly for the effective ministry of the congregation. The SPRC annually evaluates the pastor, indicates its desire to the Wichita West District Superintendent for the current pastor to continue at FUMCVC or if it seeks a change of pastoral leadership. It recommends staff salary packages to the finance committee. Confidentiality is of great importance among the members of the SPRC. Occasionally matters concerning personnel are discussed and dealt with that no one outside the committee needs to know. Always keep the SPRC in your prayers. It is a great group that cares deeply for the ministry of the congregation and the servants who lead that ministry. Sometimes it carries great weight on its shoulders.
TrusteesThe trustee committee is charged with the care and upkeep of all the physical facilities of the church. Those facilities include the entire building and grounds at the corner of Meridian and fifth and also the church parsonage. Trustees are always on the look-out for things going wrong with the facilities so that they can fix it. You can help them out; if you see something wrong, let a trustee know. He or she will be happy to hear from you.
